What benefit is there by having an extra Israeli number?

One amazing use of this service can be if you have children studying in Israel they can easily call you from any Israeli landline, cellphone or payphone as a local call without any cost to either of you!

Would be nice to have, but I would need a bunch of these numbers.

Yes, but it is not free, should be pretty cheap and good quality, I had a prepaid telecom carrier for many years and still have contacts in the business, will check it out.

Zadarma.com is the cheapest out there (that I have seen). $2/mo for Israeli number that receives SMS and free incoming calls to the Zadarma app over VOIP. If you need forwarding to a regular phone number, then there's a charge per minute, and there might be cheaper options out there.

Warning: Zadarma will not enable incoming SMS unless you provide them with a color copy of your passport.
