Pretty sure you can set up tasks to run based on NFC tags

Is there a way to disable the Go SMS popup? I would like to have it automatically disable when I'm using Waze or Navigation.

Doubt it, but tasker does have the option of simulating soft keys; so you may be able to have it x it out.

A few things you can try.
Create a task that should execute upon receiving a text, then either make it kill the go sms app (Task/app/Kill app/go sms), or simulate the back button (task/Input/button/back) if that back button executes too early, before the pup up comes up you can add a wait time of a few milliseconds before that.

That's smart, I didn't even think in that direction. I was going to write a script to change the preference file. :-[

Are you rooted? Do you have the secure settings plug-in? If yes you can totally disable GoSMS whenever waze is on

Yes and yes. Which action would I use?
ETA: do you mean package state?

Root actions / package state
Choose app
Disable and then enable when exiting waze.
Or toggle 2x

Just downloaded the app. I am completely lost!! Should be fun trying to figure it out... I haven't rooted my phone, so I don't know how much I'll be able to do.

There's still a lot you can do even without rooting. Google "Tasker beginners guide", there are several good ones online.

Yes.
1) try to have Tasker run this command, which has may or may not work for you.

 /system/bin/screencap -p /sdcard/screenshots/%DATE%TIME.png

2) Screenshot Ultimate is supposed to work with Tasker, probably as a plug-in .

Thanks, it worked. BUT I has to tweak it as it needs a folder which exists already. You can add md /sdcard/screenshots at the beginning to solve that. Or just create the folder elsewhere.

Method one didn't seem to work for me. It's just making a blank .png

That command is pretty device/version specific, your lucky you even got a blank png, I didn't even get that. Could be you need to tweak it a bit and it may work.
