I think its theoretically possible, but all he'd have to do is sign out of his account. Why don't we just ask him in good faith not to check this thread?

Good points. Another question how much should each person give? Maybe we will do $10 standard, but everyone can write here whatever they amount they want. If someone wants to not disclose the amount they can PM whoever wants to be in charge?

But whoever gives anything gets their name on the present card...

We will need to get an idea of how many people would give $10 to try and figure out the type of present. Suppose I'll add a poll, but posting also helps.

Simple solution -

Create a google document, where you can have everyone fill in their pledges, and thoughts about what to get... 

Whoever would like to join will PM you, or whoever wants to take charge, and they will forward them a link to the doc.

Obviously you won't give out the link to an unrecognised member. ;)
