Question about United Premier Status
« on: October 15, 2012, 06:34:04 PM »
I am scheduled to become a United gold premier member for travel completed during the 2012-2013 calender year. I believe that my gold status will remain through 2014. In order to qualify for platinum status, will I need to earn an additional 75,000 miles during the 2013 year or will 25,000 earn me this status?

That.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Now that the new year has begun, is it the right time to convert my FEQM's into status? Or do I wait until next month.... ?

I have spoken to 3 different reps, and gotten the same answer from each, that the status will only be good till Jan 31, 2014... is there any RELIABLE way that I can confirm this before I go ahead and make the transfer??

Upon qualification, Premier status is valid through the end of the program year in which you qualified, as well as the entire following year. For example, if you complete 25,000 Premier qualifying miles (PQM) between January 1, 2013, and June 1, 2013, you will earn Premier Silver membership for the remainder of 2013 and for 2014.

Sorry - almost off topic....  Are there any credit cards that I can open that still give FEQM's?  Or is this limited to grandfathered Continental cards?

I always wondered how so many DDF aficionados maintained status on United when they're always flying for free!  I guess this is the answer....many have grandfathered in CO cards that give EQMs as well and I assume there's no loophole or CC out there where I can do the same?
