Sticky situation. Help Needed!

I booked 3 Refundable round trip tickets JFK to LAX with American Airlines.
Now when I'm trying to cancel them they said it is NOT refundable!
I booked them from the "refundable" tab on the new AA website!
I'm on the phone with them them now.
The first rep laughed and said too bad!  >:( >:(
The next 3 started off the conversation by saying "I will not refund the tickets but I can walk you through it so you don't do it next time!  >:( >:( ::) ::)
I don't want 10K in AA Credit!  :'( :'(
What should I do????  :-\

If you dabble in this business and don't read and save a copy of the fare rules you're just asking for trouble.

I only had this before with United. I just HUCA a few times. and got it
AA is much harder to deal with
I try never to use them
But I had to for this one

I just Got Zeal from Reservations and she gave me a 1 time courtesy because a lot of people are messing up with the new website layout!
I should see credit on each card in 72 Hours!  ;D ;D ;D ;D
What I was hoping to see in this topic was similar stories and/or different phone numbers to call.

Do you have screen shots? Do you have a copy of the itinerary that shows the fare class you were booked into? Do you have any sort of documentation that says the word refundable on it? What kind of credit card did you use?

I have Screenshots and I also have a call on record where they confirm that I will be getting the money back to the credit card. (GV did not record it because it understood the #4 as a request to AA's system, not my request to record the call.)
