You left out the 3rd option- they have an amazing goalies coach.

The Habs have the best goalie coach– Stephan Waite. We stole him from the Hawks. Just ask CM ;)

And that had nothing to do with kane and toews.
A lot to do with them. They don't win either without them. IIRC it was Kane that said Crawford was MVP not him when he won it (Conn Smythe Trophy).

A Hawks/Habs final would have been nice. Hopefully it will Hawks/Rangers. Can you imagine an CA/FL final? What would be wrong with that picture.

Yes Waite is one of the best.

As much as I hate seeing a team with a terrible fan base in the Cup, I'm pulling for the Bolts. Moving to NY for the summer and I can't deal with all the gloating. Rangers fans are super annoying (no offense to all of you that are on here).

I don't know why you guys hate the Rangers.

I understand the whole I-Hate-Obnoxious-NY-Sports-Teams mentality, but the Rangers play in a league that doesn't allow them to buy any player they want, they don't employ a bunch of goons and are pretty much a classy team with an enviable work ethic.

Any specific reason/s you hate them?

And that's exactly why people hate NYers.

I don't hate the team (besides for Kreider). I hate the fans, and therefore don't want to see the team succeed, because when the team sucks, all the fans disappear and the world becomes a much more pleasant place.

Really?
+1 The gloating never stops with NYers. I still hear people talking about how they made the Cup last year people. Get over it.

I think thats a poor assessment of the fans.
Rangers fans aren't fair weather fans.
They have a deep and passionate long time fan base but there's so many NYers that don't care about hockey. We are always left behind in the NY sports talk shows, and most non fans have no clue how good the Rangers played this year.

I actually wish there were more bandwagoners, too many people don't care about hockey in NY.

I don't know of these obnoxious fans that you're talking about, I'm sure there's a bunch, but it's not a common thing to see. Heck, who brags about making it to the final? I've seen fans use it defensively "You think we won't make the playoffs this year? We just made it to the final!"  There's only one goal, the Cup or bust, and that's every Rangers fans wish this year.

I didn't say all of them are, but there are MANY bandwagonners. Back in the early 2000s and 2008-2010 when they weren't considered to be contenders, I barely knew any serious Rangers fans. Even this season, I barely know anyone that watched most of the regular season games (something that a passionate fan would do).

It's incredible. Hockey has an excitement that no other sport offers. That combination of speed and finesse with raw power and brute force is amazing. Did I mention speed?

I'm just a relatively new north American sports fan, and between baseball, football and soccer (I gave up cricket), there's been no time to get into hockey. But every playoff season I think, "next year in going to really get into it...."

My wife, otoh, hates playoff hockey.
