I'm going with the Ducks in game one. They made Calgary look like such an inferior team most of last series.

ESPN is a self promoting business. I agree they are a business but their decision to ignore hockey is not based on whats popular but what they can self promote.

+1
You won't convince me that billiards and bowling are more popular than hockey, but going by their coverage you'd need to say so.

If they were playing Calgary again I would do the same.  :)
What about the other game. You know the series to see who is going to be the Cup runner up.  :P

Is Calgary that bad ?
Too dificult for me to make a real prediction with my team. But I'll take the Rangers in game 1.

I don't know.
I thought the Rangers are underdogs this round but everyone here thinks they will advance.
I'm guessing the Ducks are underdogs, but that's only due to the recent history of the Hawks and not exactly based on recent gameplay. We haven't seen the Ducks play a tough opponent yet, so I would guess it goes to 7 but I have absolutely no clue who will win.

Even without the betting odds, those 2 teams finished with fewer points and are technically the lower seeds.

regarding the bandwagon fans I think there are certainly a lot in NY.  no idea if this happens in other cities but I have a lot of friends who didnt watch more than a handful of regular season games that are now "huge" ranger fans.  in some ways it pisses me off and in others I am happy that hockey and the rangers may add some more fans.  I just am not sure how many of these people are here to stick with a team that wouldnt be a contender.

I think predictions are silly but I do worry about the rangers in game 1 after that last series, there could be a let down here.  My hope is that St Louis gets going as sort of a revenge series.
In the West I have no prediction, just want a long, hard fought, tiring series.

That works most of the time but for the Cup the Hawks were favored over the Blues and other higher ranked teams.

Everyone has a different definition of bandwagon fans. I like hockey a lot and big ranger fan but i just don't have enoug free time in my life right now to watch hockey all year. Even just the playoffs is pushing the limit.  So i keep an eye on it all season but when playoffs come along I'm all in. Ib suspect alot of others are like that as well. Am i a band wagon fan

Do you watch most of the Rangers games? Do you follow them when you can't watch them? If you answer yes to either you are a real fan.

I'm in the same boat. When I was younger I would follow every game, even when they werent contenders.
