I am not pinning the series on anyone. When you give up 6 and 5 goals it is pretty hard to blame the defense. It is 3-2 with Rangers at home. I would call that pretty even.
why is it hard to blame the defense if there are a lot of goals given up? You need to have watched the game if you are going to assign blame, Game 2 (in which Ott scored 6 goals) was not a bad game for Hank. He did give up 1 bad goal but otherwise there were other mistakes/breakdowns that led to the other goals.

There is no way to predict how another goalie will do. Just look at the Hawks when Darling came out of no where. If that didn't happen they would have one less ring.

Darling is good but he's no Price. Hawks did not need excellent goaltending to win the cup.
Just look at the numbers I posted and you could see exactly how other goalies performed so far this postseason. The only other goalie that faced the same qty of difficult shots as Hank will win the Vezina this year and was scored against 20 times in 5 games for a fancy .883 save %.

The Rangers D is not in fact terrible, but the deployment is. When Staal and Holden are playing 3rd line minutes (not coincidentally they did in games 3 and 4) the Rangers play much better defense. Sadly, sometimes old habits die hard.

I watched almost every game. Which bad goal are you talking about. The horrendous overtime goal he gave up? How about the first goal I could have stopped or the second goal he served the rebound up on a plate? It seems I am not the one who didn't watch the game.  ;)

The best goalie so far for this current series is Flurry. No one has come even close to the non-stop onslaught he has faced.

I did not say that you didnt watch the game, I was saying that one cannot assign blame without watching the game but once you watch the game you can determine if the goalie or defense or both were responsible for a 5 or 6 goal game. In game 2 the first goal was weak (although it was right after a turnover so defense isnt off the hook). the 2nd goal was a rebound that kinda got pinballed around before setting up an easy goal that isnt on Hank. The 3rd was the rebound off the boards that the defense overskated. 4th and 5th were deflections that no goalie could have stopped. And the OT goal was a 2-1 and a very nice shot.

Was it his best game? No way but it wasnt an awful game

As I explained above, I was not saying that you didnt watch the game.
Although it was shabbos I still watched the game in full as well as watching the quick game replay where they skip some minor parts

Eh, momentum doesn't carry over from game to game.
Sharks won 7-0 next 2 games they lose. Rangers won something like 7-3 vs the Bolts in game 6 a few years ago only to lose 2-0 in game 7 at home.

I wasn't commenting on the score, was saying that the beating the caps have put on them looks like it's worn them down. If the home crowd couldn't get them going it's going to be even harder on the road. Not saying they can't win (I had picked them in 7 from the beginning) just saying it doesn't look good

They came out with some pep in their step for the second period.
