The only tough one for me is the Canucks undrafted, flames undrafted was pretty easy, MSL famously was undrafted and started his career with them. Will try to finish this puzzle now.

What's even more amazing is that the article leaves out why teams never gamble like this:

What's funny is few Wild players even knew that a team that pulls its goalie in overtime other than on a delayed penalty would lose the point they gained in the standings if they were scored upon. “No, I did not know that,” Boldy said when told by a reporter. He laughed: “Good thing we scored.”

I heard a nice explanation from Colin Campbell on NHL radio this morning. He said that when they enacted overtime there was a concern that since each team was automatically getting a point that one team would pull the goalie since they had nothing to lose.

You don't think a large part of it had to with his health? He did not play his first game after the playoff until December 7.

In hindsight, it stinks of course. But seeing him lose a step last year and undergoing a major surgery at his age, it’s a pleasant surprise that his production didn’t fall off a cliff. I don’t think the Rangers had the cap space at the time but again in hindsight, they would have cleared up space to fit in a PPG at RW position that they desperately needed to fill.

I am sure it was. That is why he had surgery.
