What exactly does it mean that he was the head of the inquisition (before his papacy, it seems he gave it over after the election). All I can gather is that he was the enforcer of a very strict understanding of Catholic practice (not much unlike some ultra orthodox rabbis condemning other sects within Judaism). Are you trying to imply that he is somehow to blame for the Inquisition in Spain in the 1400's? I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to get at?

Well, lets say that the pope didn't tell people to kill or hurt other human beings, but it comes from the same origin, they just became moderate over time.
the fact that if you have any idea what crimes where committed in the name of the inquisition, you wouldn't want to be a leader in what is the residue of this massacre machine.

It is like people understand that being called a nazi nowadays is not a compliment to most people, although its just his ideas that are perverted, so should you understand here.

A guy named verhofstadt, wrote a whole book proving point by point what kind of garbage the dear pope pius 12 was while the second world war, as well as describing the current pope with the facts I've mentioned before.

German has nothing to do with it, previous pope was polish, and in general polish hate jews much more than germans do, but he was a good guy.

Since I seem to defend myself, quoting true albeit less known facts, here some food for thought.

Well, when I'm made to feel like I have to apologize for not being excited about the name inquisition nowadays, yes, that ***** me off. [helpme that is not about you]

Character assonate? What did I say that wasn't true? People doing bad things on big (not private) level have to expect it to be spread.

Concerning indulgences, that's a stain that will remain forever along with the lots of other bloodstains, or shall I say blood-bathes caused by Christians.

Its nice to see, someone getting all soft inside because of the holy days. Christianity was always pushing for the people to know the less the better, and just stick to simple and basic belief without asking questions...

There is always some percentage of dirt everywhere; one out of every so many people is crazy/rotten/etc

sorry if i dont have the rite terminology but the pope IS called "spiritual leader" and "holly father",
but ether way,i would think that someone of his role should be the last one being shady.
