Was k9 installed?

Were there 2 conflicting anti viruses? Or possibly the Anti Virus expired that now is blocking the internet connection?

Basically.
They had Norton installed and removed it. Norton has a very common issue when it's removed it sometimes leaves over a small trace and it blocks the internet. You have to use the Norton Removal Tool to get rid of it and then its good to go.

I'm using chrome and every once in a while the internet will stop working. I finally figured out that somehow the proxy server option keeps getting selected all on it's own. I ran Malwarebytes and an MSE scan and my computer came up clean. Any ideas?

Interesting, when you have this issue does internet explorer work or both don't work?
