Nope, although I did consider that as well. It can cause freezing issues as well, however what baffled me in this case  was that once it froze it wouldn't unfreeze no matter how long I waited.

When you say the motherboard was replaced that includes the processor, right?

I have no idea. This issue started with the new motherboard.

Was the power supply too weak with the new components?

Someone fell asleep at the wheel:

Incompatible RAM/VRAM (bus speed or something)? Power supply not powerful enough? Driver issues?

Nope, Nope, Nope.

Correct, and so is any other guess that you're gonna come up with now. For this game you either gotta be following along, or read all the posts  :)

I'm a bit confused about the details, if it was freezing before the motherboard/RAM were replaced, that would ostensibly rule out those components, if it started afterward that would point to those two (or their compatibility with something else) as the culprits, please explain.

He wrote in the OP that it was freezing before it was replaced, and then changed his mind halfway mid thread. So count me in.

I said the computer had issues by the guy that built it, he ended up getting the motherboard and ram replaced (not sure what the issues were). Even after replacing the motherboard and ram he started had issues that it would freeze with the new motherboard and that's when I got it! My point in saying the motherboard and ram were replaced were relevant to the discussion in another thread regarding building your own machines, that sometimes top of the line custome machines have issues and you need to put lots of work into them

USB related? Reset CMOS? Misplaced MB screw causing a short?

Incompatibility between RAM and MB.
I get the impression from all the above that it wasn't a RAM issue, but if it was, maybe mismatched RAM on the same channel.

Yeah, I believe he said it wasn't a ram issue -- so maybe that means my suggestion is wrong.

Perhaps the new MB wasn't seated correctly?
