BIOS configured to boot from USB if available?

Ding Ding Ding!! Most new computers if you connect a USB device and try to start up will give you this error or something similar - and it will remain stuck on that screen. I've had ppl calling me frantically that they lost all their data when the entire issue was just a USB Flash Drive or SD Card that someone left in the computer.

I think it's almost time to make a wiki of the problems and what caused it

Still a little vague

Maybe say a little diagnostics what was done, so this doesn't just come into a guessing game. (Unless that's the point)

I assume it also wasn't turning on even when plugged in (ruling out a battery issue)

So I would guess - issue with the power button / or some issue with the daughter board the power button is on.

Ok

I had this issue a few times, I always forgot what was causing it...

I have set up a ftp for accessing files. Port Forwarding was set up, and for some reason it worked perfectly on the local network, but when logging into thru the external IP address I was getting an error in the Browser that network error

NC - You don't need to forward any ports for it to work on the LAN.

NC - All I'm saying is, that the fact that it was working on the LAN shows there was a FWDing issue.
