nothing to smile about, it probably means you dont fly abroad too often.

Im smiling because ive never paid for a ticket. Miles pay for everything:) Pray tell, why would i use my money if i can fly for free?

I understood what you said. I fly as often as i like to. I have never not taken a trip or vacation due to lack of miles. Apparently you would like to justify your use of a travel agent, and ill let you do so. For those of us who dont ever pay for our flying, we have no use for one. Perhaps something else is bothering you.

im not saying you would. its just a tad odd you would gloat about not using one because you ALWAYS use miles if you hardly fly abroad.

I didnt mean to gloat about anything. I found it a tad odd that one would ever use a travel agent nowadays.

We all know that you just flew around the world and you would like us all to know that. I have the miles to do the same. I dont know why im even wasting my time with you. I wasnt gloating about anything. All i was saying is that i have no use for one because whenever i do fly internationally, i use my miles (as most people on this forum do). How often i fly is irrelevant as that is not the discussion here nor does it tell you anything about me. All i said is that whenever i do fly internationally, i use my miles as thats what i have them for. My line of work keeps me traveling in the US and does not leave much time for international travel. When i have the vacation time, we do like to travel.  The discussion became the use of travel agents and i was trying to understand how they can be of significant value. Thats all. For some reason you seem to have taken offense.

Travel agents often save you money by booking group flights on international travel

This is a great place to end it. No offense meant, and none taken. Regarding that report and that thread, i read it and enjoyed it as well. My wife and i are looking to plan a trip around the world as well and i will definitely use your experiences when doing so. I just could not understand why you were bashing me for always using miles to travel internationally and not knowing why anyone would use a travel agent, if they have the miles to travel instead. Many people on this forum use their miles for that purpose and were probably thinking the same thing. Im sorry you got offended.

To say it in very short: a good travel agent can pul sometimes trick that regular people can't, or have negotiated fares, so before spending too much money, give them a call.

I Booked a Delta one way in Business from Flying Blue from TLV to JFK.
The taxes for the infant I was told for a one way would be $385 and a round trip would be $350. I tried doing the roundtrip but they said that since it is a paper ticket (for the infant) it will not work bec, it is linked to my itin.
An option could have been to make another refundable return (it may have worked).
I did not want to wait till the airport bec. youneed to be there a little earlier plus I was afraid that they would charge me more then $385.

In the end I called up Delta in the US and they said that they cannot mail it overseas. I called Delta in Israel and she said that they cannot mail, either pick  it up at their offces in Tel Aviv or the airport they cannot mail the ticket(Israelis!)

Then I asked her to check how much a round trip one way business and return economy open ended, The price for that was $282.
I told her to book it and I will worry about getting the ticket later.
After it was booked (by sending in copies of ID and CC!!) she told me that she will send it to the airport and it will be waiting by the ticketing counter.

I hope the ticket does not get lost!

So Delta let you book a round trip open ended infant ticket even though the parent had a One Way ticket?

How did you explain it? Every time I try to do something like that they tell me the infant ticket must match the parent.

They did it for me.
And it is a paper ticket so as long as the first leg matches ur ticket there should not be any problems.
