Try MILK.  Cold is better, a few times a day.  I remember when I used it when nothing else seemed to work.  Even though I felt like my skin contracted, it took away the heat and the pain.

As a kid I remember we would use cucumber peels.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Slices are good for sunburned eyes (on the sockets for the lids above and below).  Helps with puffiness, too.

I have an Israeli cream which IINM is based on Hydrogen Peroxide which ostensibly speeds up the healing. I don't know if it does anything for the pain.

Going back to milk, here is a recipe you may want to try for sunburned body parts. Oatmeal is also good so combine with the 2000 year old honey remedy to get:

Milk with Oatmeal  The anti-inflammatory properties of oatmeal give relief from redness and itchiness.
  • Grind ½ cup of oatmeal to a fine powder.
  • Combine 1/4 cup milk, ground oatmeal powder and 2 tablespoons of honey.
  • Apply the mixture on affected areas.
  • After 20 minutes, rinse off with cool water.

if you have dark skin, and have a burn, apply Olive Oil and DO NOT wash that area with water for 2-3 days or earlier if already healed
If the skin is still retaining heat from the burn, don't put oil, margerine, etc on it. Oils retain heat, maybe making the burn worse.

Hydrogen Peroxide is very harsh on the skin.  It's not recommended for open areas any more.

Honey has skin healing properties.
The oatmeal, milk honey combo sounds like a winner!

I got sunburnt from head to toe, tried cool baths and Aloe spay…

Any other new remedies
In this case, you may want to try a milk bath.  Too bad it wasn't last summer with all that extra milk being thrown out!  Normal milk baths are 1-2 cups in the bath water.  I would have cool bath water and pour milk over your body while you are in the tub so the skin gets the benefit of the undiluted milk and then the milk rolls off into the bathwater where you can soak.  Double whammy!

Any advice?
That was one insane sunburn, never seen anything like it. There's nothing like an equatorial sunburn.
