Missed leg on first half of round trip flight
« on: February 14, 2013, 08:36:40 PM »
I bought a round trip ticket on alitalia

Italy-Jfk, jfk-phl in Dec 2012
phl-jfk, jfk-italy, march 2013

In december, when i took my flight, I got off at jfk and didnt take the jfk-phl leg. I did so as I was unwell and went to see a doctor (who would be happy to vouch for me) in nyc. I've now become aware that this cause my ticket to be invalid. I've called into aliatia to re-confirm my ticket and all appears to be fine. Should I have any cause for concern? Should i call alitalia and admit that I skipped the flight -but i had a legit reason- or should i bank on slipping through the cracks, and why bring it up if no-one at alitalia has to me first?

If your ticket is still good then its good. Not all airlines cancel tickets when you miss segments

Just want to confirm that I successfully took the flight with no mention of the missing part.

huh? confirm with who?

Just call the airline if you are still ticketed then your ok, if you are canceled you'll need to explain yourself. Not to complicated.

I think he was reporting back that he was able to take the second leg already
