CVS says Gift Cards are Cash or Debit Only?
« on: February 18, 2013, 07:07:10 PM »
Wen to buy some Gap Inc. gift cards at CVS to take advantage of the 5x bonus category with Freedom

CVS said Gift cards are debit or cash only

Manager corroborated.

This was in Brooklyn.

Anyone having this experience?
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

It depends on the store...
In the same two block radius, I've seen stores that take CCs and that don't.

So who is it up to? The manager? Stores less prone to fraud?

IME, the stores on larger streets are the ones with the restrictions. But that would be a very unscientific observation.

Never heard of them accepting only cash for a GAP gift card.

in Florida, the Walgreens I went into had a sign on the floor cash only next to the gift card display. The CVS I went into in Ft lauderdale took CC for gc.

YMMV. One store by me. The morning manager wouldn't let, no matter how much I argued. I went back at night, and had no problem with a diff clerk.

In MIA the front counter refused me but the pharmacy had no prob.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.
