They sent me an airrave which didn't work, and I don't think it worked for anyone.
My airrave usually works.
Without it I would say 9 out of 10 calls in my house don't really work out...

b'reshus baal haochsaniya i want to disagree, they may use better tower equipment but the bands depending on which type of transmission (voice, 1x, 3g andso forth) some are the same exact as sprint, some are differnet, in the most part the reason verizon is better is because they have more towers and better equipment.
VZW=850.
Sprint=1,900.
Lower frequency=better penetration.  There's a reason Sprint and VZW have the reputation they have.

vzw also uses 1900 and sprint 800. depending on which areas in the country. but again this is not my specialty so i cannot vouch 100% for it.

Isn't higher frequency more waves per second=better?

It is totally unrelated, at those frequencies the amount of waves used doesn't make a difference in the quality of the signal, however due to the physical properties of concrete, lower frequencies can penetrate it easier.

Switching to Verizon (if you can afford it) is the best thing you can do.

1: no more sprint hold music (which sends me over the edge)
2: actual coverage on Verizon. it simply works. EVERYWHERE.
3: if you set the phone to always roam and they cut you off, that's the best way to get out of your contract without paying a fee!
4: no more sprint hold music (yes, i'm saying it twice)

RJ, one point you overlooked: cost

when having a family plan, sprint has a great deal. if you are in an area where it works well most times, you may consider it a good buy.

I do not love sprint, but I do love additional lines at 19.99 for smart phones (before they started to add data fee).

seems sprint closed their BP location? (13th and 41st)

firstly there are known no wait numbers, also most people do not call sprint day and night. it comes from the old dropped calls credit days many bochrim felt sprint therfore should give them some refund every time their phone sneezes wrong. i am a customer at both sprint and verizon, they equally have issues, with verizon since you pay more you subconsciously make excuses for them each time something goes wrong..

I spend several hundreds of hours on hold with them with issues such as: they lost a $550 refund check they were supposed to send and expected me to just pretend I had received it. or, they wanted $550 for 2 weeks of service.

You call the no wait time depts and it's about 30 sec to a min till they transfer you to another dept, who transfers you to another, and another......

Life's too short to have a sprint plan.

its all useless if you have so many issues.

firstly there are known no wait numbers, also most people do not call sprint day and night. it comes from the old dropped calls credit days many bochrim felt sprint therfore should give them some refund every time their phone sneezes wrong. i am a customer at both sprint and verizon, they equally have issues, with verizon since you pay more you subconsciously make excuses for them each time something goes wrong..
your very wrong but sorry. I am not in the US now but honestly i never really have many issues with VZW. yes its expensive but its still worth it, that i never really picked up the call to complain that my calls are being dropped, or that they lost my check. Even when i called to complain they overcharged me, i was basically wrong and they still offered me 20$ refund for being valued.  Yes, vzw has there share of issues but not the same ones as sprint. Im truthful with myself...i don't hide behind any names or doors, if i felt i was getting ripped off, and getting the same service I'd say so..bec i can easily switch if i really felt sprint is the way to go. I think your trying to justify being a cheapskate and saying dropped calls are worth it...

As Stewart Scott says....Booya!

i remember reading on your blog that you only switched because you were banned from sprint and that is why you are now bad mouthing them nobody likes when after bringing in revenue to a corporation and then they are treated like garbage, so I understand why you do not like them but sprint is still a good option

I found this after searching:
@kafui tov:
J’Accuse! But maybe you should first know the facts?

I’m not making anyone switch, I’m just saying what they did to me.
For the record my monthly bill was not cheap, it was $375 with tax. So I was giving Sprint $4,500 in revenue for 10 years, a total of $45,000!!!!! And no, the plan did not have unlimited minutes, it was negotiated with Sprint corporate reps just like I did this time with Verizon.

And they, being the moronic company that they are, doesn’t seem to understand the concept of running a service with high fixed costs and kicking off customers providing incremental revenue…

I don’t owe them any “hakaras hatov” for throwing me off a plan that Sprint created for me and resigned numerous times, in middle of being under a contract no less!

Did I miss something?

I was forced off Sprint, that's not a secret.  I always laughed at the VZW suckers over the 10 years I had Sprint as they overpaid and I couldn't grasp why.

Now I'm with VZW and am happy to report that I have service in all kinds of places that I didn't with Sprint, that my data speeds are far superior, that I never have billing mistakes like I did every month with Sprint, and that when I call for issues they are resolved instantly instead of taking countless hours.

I wouldn't switch back in a million years even if they gave me my old plan back.

I'm on a share everything plan with a few friends, we share 4-6gb of data a month. a little expensive but good quality is never cheap (unless in the case of a price mistake).

Call them and try to negotiate a lower price for business.

the unrealistic best thing to do is get a @kodak email address for 26% off every month :)
