Correct that it's not a total redo. But look at the exterior pics here (and many other sites have the same pics):

http://newcarsreleasedates.com/2016-honda-odyssey-changes/

Definitely a very different look, and not one I particularly like, though if it's well-received, that sporty look may become the new appearance of minivans, and older ones won't be easy to resell one day.

I asked several places about getting a 2015 when the 2016s come out, and he said there won't be any, as even now inventory is quite low. Don't know if they're telling the truth, but they all gave me this answer.
Theyr not going to tell you to wait and pay them less.  They want money know, and as much as they can get. I guarantee you'll find 2015s in the weeks and months after the 16 comes out. And they will be cheaper than.  Oh, and the low inventory  of is total bs to get you nervous and be willing to pay more. New car dealers are as snakes as used car dealers, only better dressed  and they are official dealerships.

Planning to get a new Honda Odyssey. Was planning to get a 2015, but one dealer said the 2016s are coming out next month. They said later models always get better resale value (though I'm planning to keep it for many years), though the dealer incentives and financing won't be as favorable on the new model. Also the pre-release pictures I see online don't look too appealing. Any thoughts on getting a 2015 now vs. waiting for the 2016 next month?
If you're keeping it for years the resale price won't be so different because of a one year age difference. Take the dealer incentives now, instead of betting on a couple of bucks down the line. Even better, wait for the 2016 to come out before you buy the 2015. It'll come out even cheaper.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

-1 You are wrong even if you find a 15 after the 16's are out, they will be higher pricing then they are now.

Im glad you are laughing. You should always be getting a minimum of 7% off msrp , if the car wasn't released that month.

They are currently running incentives on the 15's that they will not run once the 16 are out. Yes you are correct if there are too many 15 still around they will have to get rid of them, that is not the current reality.

there's another piece of the math you're missing - dealers figure the resale value of when they get the car back, at the end of the term. the higher that number is the less they'll charge you. in 2018 a 2016 will be more valuable than a 2015. so very possibly the 2015 will be more expensive on a lease than the 2016.

While I disagree that you will ever pay more for an older model when a new model is available, it does not apply here as based on op's post (see bold below) he is looking at buying in which case your argument holds no water.

There is no financing for leases, only for buying.

Indeed. I've had personal experience of it being true with leases, and my explanation was how it was explained to me. but obviously doesn't apply to purchase.

Then why would anyone take the old model when they can have the new one for less?

Who said that they do? They'll sell the old ones,  just not lease them for as cheap in certain scenarios
