Rented another Sienna Hybrid in NYC this week. Man am I happy I don't own this thing, noisy, poor rear climate controls, terrible driving experience overall. Ody drives and sounds like a dream compared to the Sienna Hybrid.

But that being said, it's really a great rental car. Filled it up in Monsey with 3 gallons, drove around Manhattan, dropped off at JFK, and the tank was still above F. Not bad for 155 miles of driving.
And they hiked the price. We're really happy with our Carnival so far. It's getting refreshed for model year 2025. Adding a hybrid option (hopefully a better combo than the Toyota 's tiny engine that is underpowered and noisy because of it). Also wireless Android Auto/full OTA updates even on the higher trims, upgrades to suspension and sound deadening, upgraded drivers assist, etc.

why is it that all of the second tier car 'makes', have all these upgraded features as a standard?

Same. Very happy with my 2024 Carnival. Though jealous I'll be missing out on the 2025 refresh ;)

I've have compared many Korean products to a fully loaded Chevy

Doesn't matter if you lease and don't care about longevity.

Mine is worth more or less what I paid for it 2 years ago

People have to get with the times. Hyundai is now the third largest automaker in the world. Toyota is still getting by with their brand name, but their cars have fallen behind.

-1 the are many way it can possibly come out during the first few years too.

It also makes a difference in lease price. I remember Odysseys being cheaper to lease than Windstars sure to the difference in residual. But that is all visible in the numbers.

What does large have to do with anything?

Sorry, it was a half developed thought. They are very well regarded these days, and their value holds up. Obviously, besides, for features and design that is very much at the forefront of the industry, their quality is nothing like it was 20 years ago

I drive a 2022 carnival and couldn't be happier other than gas millage
Toyota uses a 2.5L engine with a ECVT transmission that's why it's so loud Kia will use for the 2025 hybrid a turbocharged 1.6L engine with a 6 speed so hopefully won't be noisy

I travel to work with a group of 6, and we switch between driving a sienna and odyssey.
The sienna definitely is much roomier. Whenever we have to take the odyssey, everyone is definitely more cramped.

On the Sienna. I just can't see how a 4 cylinder motor can properly carry a van full of adults. That is why I skipped it. Maybe they'll figure something out down the road to give it adequate power.

Regarding Hyundai, the cars might be nice and good, but I hear insurance rates are up for those, as they are considered too easy to steal. To the extent that NYC is suing the manufacturers!
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
