Thoughts on Honda Care warranty?

I bought an 8 year extended warranty for my Odyssey.  It comes with free roadside assistance, which is quite valuable in and of itself.  There are other benefits including a free loaner if your car needs warranty work in excess of a certain amount of time.

Also, you do not have to buy the warranty from your dealer or from a local dealer.  Any authorized Honda dealer can sell you a warranty, and the cost is typically a LOT less than what your local dealer charges.  I paid 1380 for a 0 deductible 100k mile 8 year warranty.  If you figure the cost of roadside assistance for 8 years at a conservative 50.00 a year, that brings the cost of the warranty down to 980.  Also, since I got my warranty from an out of state Honda dealer, there was no added tax.

My local dealer wanted about 2k for the same warranty, inclusive of tax.

If anyone is interested, I bought my warranty from Curry Honda.

The 7 year/80K with no deductible seems to be the sweet spot.
Why is that 8th year so much more money?

It's not the eighth  year,  it's the 100k miles.  Better question is why don't they offer eight years/ 80k

what does the warranty cover? does it cover wear and tear issues such as batteries, struts, brakes, etc. or just engine, transmission and the like

Of course the warranty does not cover wear and tear.  It does not cover brakes, tires, etc.  I am sure the battery itself has some sort of warranty.  Pretty sure struts/shocks would not be covered.

was quoted 31400 on 2014 exl oddessy. Includes dest and processing fee. Is that a good price?
if they offer 0.9% financing, I assume a bank isn't going to beat that?

Got from PAL in the end. They matched the price I got elsewhere. Nice to give business to Jews if they are competitive

I got my Odyssey from Zack @ Bay Ridge Auto Leasing.  He beat the next best price by about 500.  I would recommend shopping around.  Get the price from each of the major players.  Someone is bound to give you a better deal.

I also recommend getting the out-the-door price inclusive of tax and registration.  That makes it easy to shop around and figure out the "best" price.

book value on (used) odyssey is more than a sienna what about real value?does one (2006-2008)have more problems than the other is it true that odyssey has problem with the transmission on a 100k miles which would you recomend?
