Town & Country Recall
« on: February 25, 2013, 07:15:53 PM »
There's a recall on the Town & Country powertrain control module.  Is there any Chrysler dealer in Brooklyn that can be trusted to actually do the work for free (as required) and not be a pain about it?

Try Guiffre in Bay Ridge.

i had a horrible experience with guiffre, i found a car online from them via USAA car buying service i printed out the price certificate which states that the prices are posted by the dealer and are guaranteed (which was a great price, but not to good to be true). when i came in and asked for the car first they 1st said they couldnt find that car but maybe they could interest me in another car (sorta got to expect this by any dealership) so after insisting that this is the only car i wanted the miraculously found it. we then went through the whole test drive th9ing brought it to my mechanic, he okd it on condition they put new tires on. so a couple of hours later i am filling out the paper work, calling geico and deciding which cc to put the bulk of it on. when we are already to sign he says just a minute and comes back 5 min later with the "sales manager" who declares that the price was a mistake and there is no way they can sell for under another 2000 after a whole fight and demanding to speak to his boss, which he responded that he was his boss he called security and had me escorted out.

That is a bad experience, sorry to hear that. Maybe OP can try Kings Chrysler on Flatbush Ave? These are the only 2 Chrysler dealers I know of in Brooklyn.

I hope you reported them to the appropriate authorities.

reported to bbb and to usaa who said pending an investigation they'll be removed from their list of vendors which has yet to happen
i received a call about 2 weeks later, after i had already bought a car , from the manager apologizing, she said the sales manager acted inappropriately on his own without approval and that he had been reprimanded

its surprising that they hasstle as on a recall they get reimbursed by the manufacturer and make good money doing the repair
some dealerships will even give you a loaner during repairs but thats something you need to ask about up front
