Amman, Jordan - Master Thread

Anyone ever spend a day in Amman? I have a 12 hour layover in August during the middle of the day (1pm to 1 am or so).

Maybe I'll hit up the chabad house :)

the lounge is actually pretty nice. you can also rent a room with a bed and bathroom for $50

ive flown through amman about 5 times, but always with my family, and the wife wasnt comfortable exploring

do you have enought ime to visit petra? thats worthwhile

deff go to petra, there is enoght time, its about 3 houts each way, back when i was a boucher i did it. Its unreal, google pictures.... It doesnt do justice. Or cross over the border to israel, enjoy eliat, go snorrkeling! Or ride with the dolphines!

You get one by the border.

I took a taxi there, I heard that there is a bus from in Amman, but I can't confirm.

Just a small tip of advise.

The taxi's across the border bring you to their friend in an unmarked car. I guess you need to be an official taxi in order to pick up.

Are you planning on staying over night?

the cheaper and nice hotels are in Aqaba and you can just go to Petra for the day
