Plus the waiting time to pass the border and the border itself is a major PITA
"PITA" is putting it mildly.

Yep
I guess with VIP service it's just a "PITA".

Are you serious? You have to be crazy to cab over the border instead of using 9k Avios.

The visa would cost you $60, Plus transportation to and from border, 9k is a no brainer
True the money for the visa (I think it's $70 now) would make it not worth it. I was thinking for someone that was going to Jordan as a destination and would be getting a visa anyway.

-0.5 It probably depends on the day, how big of a PITA it is. When I did it 2.5 weeks ago it wasn't much of a PITA compared to going to the airport and flying.

Right, if you gotta pay the visa anyway, than probably cheaper to cab it, than 9k avios plus all airport cabs.

Not a "PITA"? How long did it take from the time you got to the Jordanian border terminal until you were outside the Israeli border terminal?
How many times did you need to ask someone where you're supposed to be and they give you this look as if English isn't a language?
How long did you have to wait on the bus until they filled up so they don't waste gas on a 2 minute drive?

You'll anyways need to pay for a cab to the border and from border to wherever your going in Israel.

Like I said in addition. Choice 1 is to take one can from Jerusalem to Jordan and another from Jordan to Amman. Choice 2, is to take a cab to TLV, 9k avios, another cab from AMM to the city.

The cabs in Israel aren't cans, the cabs in Jordan on the other hand... ;)

Thanks. I remembered incorrectly, my bad. Hershel is right, it is closer to $60. In fairness though, I did have to buy visas to 4 different countries in a span of 5 days, so it's hard to remember the details by each of them :P

1. IIRC 2 hours, and maybe slightly less. About an hour of it was waiting in an air conditioned room with seating (like waiting for a flight) while they waited until enough people came to fill up the bus.
2. Zero. The guy on the Jordan side was actually pretty friendly and chilled, and was schmoozing with the people waiting and cracking jokes etc.
3. We didn't have to wait on the bus. We were able to wait inside until we were ready to leave.

Don't get me wrong, I believe you guys and understand how it would be completely different if the place was busy (or if the workers didn't speak English or were unhelpful), when I went though, that wasn't the case.

If yes, do you need a visa to get in ?
Only need a visa by Allenby bridge and only from Jerusalem to Jordan not the other way

You need a visa by all of the crossings to get into Jordan. It's just that Allenby is the only crossing where you can't get a visa by the crossing.

Agreed. :) Was just pointing that out in case someone would read your post and go to a different border crossing thinking that they didn't have to pay for a visa :P

Thanks for all the response. It seems there ain't ever any Y available on TLV-AMM, only J. The problem I'm having is that I'll need the morning flight, and as of now only the evening flight is available.

Don't count on availability opening closer in, as RJ  isn't always so good with that. You might have to make other plans.

It is. I just don't think it's more of a PITA than going to TLV, waiting in the airport, and catching a flight to Jordan.
