The cabs in Israel aren't cans, the cabs in Jordan on the other hand... ;)

Lol, letters right near each other on keyboard ;)

@Emkay
You DO NOT need to pay for a visa by the Eilat crossing!!!
Aqaba is a free trade zone so as long as you say that youre only going there, you won't pay for a visa.

Correct, but that *officially* won't help if you want to go to AMM.

Sorry, you're right. I guess I am yelling at this guy
You need a visa by all of the crossings to get into Jordan. It's just that Allenby is the only crossing where you can't get a visa by the crossing.
Agreed. :) Was just pointing that out in case someone would read your post and go to a different border crossing thinking that they didn't have to pay for a visa :P

@Tom Brady
YOU ARE WRONG!!!

Why not?
Border guy: Where are you going?
Yeshiva guy looking to save a few bucks: Aqaba!
Border guy: Here is your visa
Yeshiva guy: Thanks. Taxi!!!
Taxi guy: Where to?
Yeshiva guy: AMM airport!
And they all lived happily ever after.

Until they got pulled over by some ISIS militants....

Just looked it up. YQ looks to be about $50 in addition to the $26 Israeli departure tax, for TLV - AMM.

Jordan Detained 3 Bochurim, Now Freed
Three Chabad Yeshiva students were detained at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Jordan by Jordanian police to be questioned, during a flight stopover en route to New York to spend Tishrei by the Rebbe.
The incident occurred after the students began handing out literature about the importance of adhering to the Sheva Mitzvos, an act which alarmed one of the kingdom’s security officers, who mistakenly believed it contains messages that incite against the kingdom or call for a revolution.
The same literature is routinely distributed to Arab populations in Israel and beyond without incident. Many Arabs who have been exposed to the Sheva Mitzvos have resolves to keep to it.
The students were interrogated by multiple Jordanian investigators for hours in the presence of a translator, and under the careful watch of Jordanian police.
After a thorough explanation of the Sheva Mitzvos, and that its practice does not require the abandoning of the Muslim faith, the students were released.

A few questions about traveling from AMM to Isarel by car:
How much should a taxi cost from AMM to the border?
Do you need to order VIP service or you can just show up?
Are there regular Israeli taxis on the other side?
TIA
