Why would anybody not be covered for at least a million in today's day and age?

As long as you want to keep the policy you keep on paying premiums and the cash value grows. If you pay to age 100, the cash value will equal $250,000 at that point, after that no premiums are due and it grows 3% per year.

So for a newborn the maximum you would pay to age 100 would be $24,750.00 and you would be Guaranteed a Death Benefit of $250,000 at any point, with cash values growing every year from age 5 to age 100 based on a pre determined schedule.

Almost.

=RATE(20,-417.50,0,16840,1)

Actually for that age group the IRR peaks at year 18. But it doesn't really matter, since this is a 100% guaranteed product, you know at any point what it will do going forward, so you just figure out if it makes sense to keep the money there, or to surrender and move to something else.

Now tell me where else can you get such guaranteed returns? There's a reason why the smart money is rushing into this.
