"Reduced" CO Award To TLV?
« on: June 19, 2010, 11:52:32 PM »
An FT'er reported getting a quote from CO for 65K from JFK-IST-TLV-FRA-JFK.

Based on the "SC7-SC10" award code I figured the JFK-IST-TLV was the "discounted" leg.

I tried calling CO to book JFK-IST-TLV-IST-JFK (11/09-11/25) but it was 75K + $70.

Anyone else care to try other combos?

What's the situation with IST these days? Is it safe?

You are saying IST-TLV-JFK, unless you made a mistake, it means that the CO employee made a mistake by giving a ticket that is Europe-usa, instead of middle east-usa.

I'm in the middle of verifying what the situation is in IST for stopovers. Getting out of the airport is a big no no.

I know someone that went a few days ago. At the airport its for sure fine. You spend the time in the lounge or walking around. That guy also went to town and didnt feel hostility. But use common sense, dont go a few days after a "mazav", dont put on tefilin in middle of the market!

In the past, I've put something on hold and gotten a quote lower than the actual amount of miles needed. They usually realize their mistake when you try to book.

whats that?
That means 1 leg is pricing as a Europe leg and 1 as a Israel leg.
It's possible CO already fixed it, they do have a full time presence on FT after all.
Has anyone tried booking JFK-FRA-TLV using CO miles before?

It should be just as many as EWR-TLV direct.

Did you read the FT thread linked to in my first post?

Now I did, was reading from BB.

But one of the post on which I commented was edited, so my comment makes no sense anymore.

here my comment below:

the post it was based on reads: « Last Edit: Today at 12:12:27 AM by Dan » which explains it.  ;)

Sorry, but you lost me.
I edited my first post some 12 hours ago, how does that change what you said hours after that?

Regardless if anyone wants to try for JFK-FRA-TLV-FRA-JFK or JFK-IST-TLV-FRA-JFK do let us know what happens.

My comment was based on the fact that your post spoke about a: IST-TLV-JFK which is completely different then your edited version ie TLV-IST-JFK or TLV-FRA-JFK.

Methinks you misread that, as my post never said that.  My edit at 12:12am was simply to add the FT link and was made over 4 hours before your post...

DD (Dan Dude), you must know those little tricks by now, You've had this forum a while.

Reminds me of a program that I needed urgently and had expired.

I just changed the date on the pc, and had another 20 years to use it. (not recommended though, as everything gets mixed up)
