Now I know how Israel feels when Europe says she lied about what the flotilla  ;)

I'm big enough to admit when I make a mistake and there was no mistake made here on my part, nor any "cover up," nor do I have any ability to change timestamps on the forums whatsoever.

Sorry Super, I've got to agree with Dan on this one, I did think your reply was kinda strange.

Interesting routing with CO from NYC to TLV (cheaper mileage in Y)
« Reply #22 on: July 15, 2010, 06:03:42 PM »
Dan pointed me to a FT thread about something else but the topic intrigued me and I looked into it. Just got off the phone with CO.

JFK-IST-TLV, TLV-IST-JFK in coach prices out at 75K

EWR-FRA-TLV, TLV-FRA-EWR in coach prices out at 75K

Interestingly enough, and for no apparent reason...

JFK-IST-TLV, TLV-FRA-EWR in coach prices out at 65K, and business is 110K (the others would be, I think, 115K)

Sounds to me like a good option for getting to Israel in coach for 10,000 miles less that usual. Yes, there is a stopover each way, but still.

Someone wanna try EWR-TLV, TLV-IST-JFK? Or JFK-IST-TLV, TLV-EWR (or vice versa with the FRA option)?

Let us know...
-Eli

How much money do you think they can possibly make by going one-way through Turkey on an award ticket?
If that's the only reason to spend an extra 10K it seems a little extreme, no?

Virgin Atlantic charges very hefty fuel surcharges:

i just remembered that they now have a 15% extra milage if you transfer from amex. exp. 7/31 but they have this offer every couple months. so that comes out to be around 62k. ( i cant do the math at this hour).
p.s. thanx for the update on virgin atlantic that they charge on partner airlines.

Someone else told me that they do charge fuel surcharges on CO.
Can someone make a dummy reservation with them and confirm one way or the other?

I hate when they do that.
When ANA told me that I asked for a supervisor and explained that I have AMEX points that I would like to transfer to ANA but won't unless I get a definitive quote with taxes.

The supervisor was able to get one for me.

Start recording calls yourself!

Start recording calls yourself!

I once had a dispute about something with a a company (forgot which). The CSR was being a real pain. I knew he was wrong so i told him i was going to record the call (which i had no intention of really doing). He told me that if i start recording the call, he was hanging up. I told him i would report him if he hung up on me and he said he is allowed to hang up on me if i record the calls. Im not saying you shouldnt record them, just saying my personal experience.
