Reminds me of The Mitteler Rebbe (the son of the Ba'al Hatanya), when they brought him a few options for Shidduchim he said they should go for whichever one can be finalized the quickest because he can't wait for the Torah his father would say by the engagement and wedding...
that's actually pretty funny!

3 dead.

I hate it when people include the murderer/terrorist/psycho in the number of dead. It's an insult to the victims.

Was just stating the fact that 4 dead people that I had no idea about while working and and checking-in on DDF.
This was the first article I read -- Otherwise working and DDFing all day:
Their Yahoo, non-intelligent title: Fort Hood shooting leaves 4 dead, including gunman Link:http://news.yahoo.com/fort-hood-shooting-222528983.html

To the contrary, I often first hear about breaking news when I see it on DDF.
E.g. http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=40166.msg781664#top

Spending all day working and checking DDF should have no shaychus to why you didn't hear about a news item.

..... If you stay at an SPG hotel, your 3 year old daughter turns on the TV to the channel that they show all the beautiful spg properties, after drooling over them she says " I am going to go there when I'm older, I have to get A CREDIT CARD"!!!!!

That's great!
Our kids think it's 'normal' to stay in a local Starwood hotel (Cat. 2) 2 rooms for the night and then drive to school the next morning just to get the 2 stays (and a mini-vacation) towards platinum status.

.....you don't call cities by their real names anymore. E.g. in the past couple of days I texted a friend "Are you still in YYZ?", and "How's MIA", etc.

So true.
It actually takes some mental effort on my part to refer to cities by their name when talking to non-DDFers.
