.....you don't call cities by their real names anymore. E.g. in the past couple of days I texted a friend "Are you still in YYZ?", and "How's MIA", etc.

....you're missing a couple of c.c.'s and you don't really care because they're all saved to your online profiles.

So true.
It actually takes some mental effort on my part to refer to cities by their name when talking to non-DDFers.

This thread is about things you experience in life that only DDFers would get. I don't think those pictures relate to that theme...

On a related note, though, you might be a DDer if... your friend's mom says, "I see you are definitely the expert on mileage and points. Perhaps you could help me?" and then proceeds to ask you how to book a PAID flight.

+ I don't even know how much!
Also people who assume that glitches exist at all times. I get way too many people saying "Can you find me one of those super cheap Israel deals that you got? I need to leave next week/month etc.."

Two things:

1. The letter from the yeshiva incorrectly states that Amazon Smile donates 5% of the purchase price. In fact, they donate 0.5%.

2. Quite the irony posting that in this thread, cuz IINM buying through Amazon Smile precludes the ability to use Dan's Amazon affiliate link ;D

Dan should definitely apply for a 501c3.

You think his current affiliate link earns him less than 0.5%?

I did not read the full terms of the Amazon Smiles, but if it is .5% of the sale, then yes I think that is way more than Dan gets.  He probably gets per click, regardless if anything was purchased.

Dan has posted elsewhere that his Ma'aser is equal (or greater than) .5%.

I'm just mentioning it so people will continue using Dan's links. There used to be a thread about Amazon Smile where this was discussed more at length, but I can't seem to find it.

It was a thread I started and then deleted when I realized how little they were offering vs. how much Dan makes.

BTW why would any organization go through Amazon Smile if they could just get an affiliate link and make so much more? I know a few Shuls that have affiliate links on their websites.

I think that some organizations figure that the customers will bookmark that as their Amazon tab much easier than surfing and shopping through a portal.

They are both the same. (Also, may they think that the shul can track their purchases and that makes them nervous!? They can't.)
