check trash and spam.
Look at unlikely emails, maybe it's from an unfamiliar name.
Staples.com has your 'order history'. Would that help?

Whether you need your product key(s) to activate the software or you need the order number to file the rebate, you should be able to find both in the email with the subject "Thank you for your purchase. Download Software Now." sent by staples@easy.staples.com.

You have kids in school? Can you ask them how much they pay for a case of copy paper, and can you sell them (good quality) Staples multipurpose paper for a few bucks less?
If you can,
a) you can go into a staples: check out Staples.com > menu along the top- shop deals > coupons. there's always paper at great prices. And best for you - rebates to reach those prices. And you can use your rewards to pay it.
Now there's 5-ream cases of paper (limit 4) for $5. But you pay out $25, and get a rebate card for $20. ( You need to get them to scan the coupon 4 times for it to work on all 4 half-cases.)
b) right from your computer. There's usually paper on sale. Same routine. You often pay out $54 or so, and get back $39 or so as a rebate card. And Staples will deliver it to the school for you. (Write the delivery address: from bznt; yeshiva xyz; 123 main st...)
One important point - you're going to pay sales tax. (My kids' school gave me a tax ID, so my account doesn't pay taxes. )
One more idea - if you're in a high enough tax bracket - donate the paper to the school if they'll give you a receipt for the full value of the paper $54. It'll save you plenty in taxes.

Less than two months ago, they could be applied against an online order for Visa gift cards. That would be a fine use of points, especially if you have an Ink card to pay for any remainder. However, when I tried to apply Staples Rewards against such an order just now, it did not seem to work anymore.

same here, used to do that all the time
tried this morning and it wont apply anymore

Yesterday, I bought a $200 vgc and an item for $18.99. Gave them a $20 off coupon. Receipt printed out with a coupon for $1.01. Looks like no way of using coupons to pay for VGC
