Only $200 worth of Staples gc's ($50X4).  I don't think it's possible to be able to pay the whole $2069.50 charge with Staples gc's anyways because you're only allowed 5 gc's per order, and Staples gc's are at $50 at the most currently AFAIK.  So, what do I do?

I think you accept defeat.  This time. and try again.
Be sure that you have the GCs that are getting the funds returned to them.  or have them give you replacements.
My opinion is that large orders engender scrutiny.  So do small ones.  Many perhaps, but small orders.
