Had a pax who purchased an EMD for a seat, and then changed the flight.
Usually, they see the attached EMD # in PNR and make no issue, but this time they asked him to pay again for it.
This is what LY replied.. Are they right?

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for offering our airline to your clients.
 
I am sorry for the inconvenience your customer Mr. ###### experienced because he had to pay for an EMD valued at 150USD twice.
 
The rules of an EMD is that once issued it is non-refundable and not valid on other flights. Therefore, seeing as he made the change to his flight, in order to have an Economy Plus seat on the new flight booked, he had to purchase another EMD valued at $150.
 
Once again thank you for contacting EL AL, and we look forward to welcoming your customers onboard our Airline in the future.

IME, at least in Sabre when you cancel the segment, the EMD drops the flight info, and shows an open segment. Don't know if it's auto-revalidated, but everytime I've called LY they've seen it attached. I recently did an exchange to a different PNR (the LY PNR had expired), and emailed ticketing. Was revalidated right away

I emailed my sales representative that agents tolde they will be switching to Sabre if classic is indeed discontinued. This is what she replied. True or BS?

All GDS will be changing the architecture of their systems. Everything is going web-based. We are just ahead of the game. If agents go to SABRE they

will be coming across the same thing in the near future.

I have always found travel agents do not like change at all (I was a travel agent for a long time and I was the same way).

They will see the formats are exactly the same-the screen just looks different. It actually looks more like it did before Selling Platform Classic and agents

did not like that change either.

I will work with you to make sure everything is ok.
