Question for all you TA folks:

If you find a cheaper fare by breaking up married segments (such as here: http://blog.wandr.me/2014/02/uniteds-best-fare-only-if-you-ask-very-nicely/ ), what happens when you enter it into the GDS?

I assume you sell the segments separately. But what happens when you try to autoprice? Does it sometimes collapse into married segment logic, or can you force it to price the segments separately (or manually feed it a fare basis)?

Do airlines get mad at you for doing this (even if they're clearly valid end-on-end fares)?

Depending on the airline you will get get hit with a debit memo. Turkish and Lufthansa are very aggressive now with breaking married segments.

When you sell a broken segment and get availability which otherwise does not exist it does not automatically fall in to married segment 'logic" and get starred. You will have a broken married segment itinerary.

How is DL?

Also, when breaking married segments on UA and issuing the ticket on AC can AC send me a debit memo?

How is DL?

DL is very aware and knows of abuse however they are still trying to formulate a way to deal with things. Although, if you issue a Korean flight on DL it doesn't matter. Korean will suspend you from ARC in an instant for the slightest infraction.

Validating carrier is usually the ones sending the ADM's as it's their ticket stock.

Not in my opinion. La Compagnie is doing something many others tried and failed already in the same market. I do not understand why this will be different.

TLV- NYC is a whole different animal. Remember the last really long haul all business class shut down on Singapore. It is very hard for an airline to be profitable flying such long sectors in all business configuration. I think the industry needs something a bit better than the A350 and B787 for such a route can be profitable.

yes I know that I was just thinking that all the people who are returning home from work for the weekend it might be an ideal way to travel (just being idealistic) maybe to make a yearly pass

Idealistic + Airline Business = Failure  ;)
