How to unlock AT&T phones free of charge

IF you are traveling overseas and would like to use your AT&T locked phone you can actually have them unlock it for you free of charge. I just called their number and it works... I called (916) 843-4685 (another option might be 1800 335 4685) say your traveling and need it unlocked..

This could have saved me a big headache as the last two times I travelled I borrowed someone elses phone.

They send you the unlock code within 5-7 days...

This is good if you're actually currently an AT&T subscriber, and as long as you haven't done it within the last 90 days or something like that.

Basically, if you try to unlock a bunch of handsets for a family trip, you're outta luck. Even more so if you're no longer on AT&T!

Depending on the handset, there are actually some really easy ways to do it online for free- if you look in the right places. I've unlocked many gsm phones, regardless of provider, and even if I wasn't a subscriber of any of the gsm networks!

Not working as good as I would have hoped, they sent me the code, the e-mail said I have five tries to put it in, (after putting in a different sim) my phone said it only has 3 tries (!) I tried once without luck, called them and tried again without luck, I'm on my last try. The lady said I need to be outside the country so it doesn't get the ATT towers.... is that true or am I gonna be stuck without a phone?!

you have to say that you have contacts on an old sim card from a diff carrier and want to view them otherwise they might not give you the code

i need to unlock tmobile razor and i dont have tmobile... any ideas?

manc, you'll need a data cable and some special software (that can be obtained via google).

what do u know about them?

people i did this so many times including with a blackberry.

Call att and tell them ur going overseas   they will give u the unlock code for free    if u dont have an accont with them have a friend call them   they will unlock any of their phones as long as u have an account!!!

as for the guy who tried it 4 times   bro ur screwed!!!!! it u mess up a 5 time the phone is locked for ever i suggest u go to a cell phonestore pay the 20 dollars and if they screw up fight with them

I don't think it actually messes up the phone, it just disables the remote unlock so you have to unlock it in a store.

IIRC, The only codes that can brick a phone (sim?) are PUK codes.
