Any leads on a home rental in S FL?

Hi, I searched the forums before posting, and cannot find anyone talking about this, would anyone be able to help this n00b

Would anyone here happen to know of someone that would rent out their home or apt (3-4) bedrooms, in south florida (miami metro area) from march 20-24, its a few days before pesach, so if someone is already renting out for pesach (or not interested in pesach rental because of celaning hassles) then this would be additional income for them.

Would obviously be responsible for keeping the place clean (pesachdik if needed)

they seem to have only in NMB... would you know how safe the area is? i was told that there is allot of crime...

I've used FKV in the past and was very happy. Never crossed my mind to feel unsafe, most of the villas (I believe all the Kosher ones) are right in the middle of the Jewish neighborhood.

Which is very unsafe.

During daylight it's not really a problem to walk out and almost everyone is OK going to shul etc at night.


The community has a private security car driving around 24/7.

I've taken walks by the canal at 2 AM and felt completely comfortable. But then again this is the first I hear of this issue so maybe I shouldn't have done it...

people really exaggerate how dangerous nmb is. if you are in the jewish section it is pretty safe. is there crime? sure. but not so much that you need to be constantly fearing for your life (like some people think you need to). the canal would not be the smartest thing at 2am (but not the stupidest either)

You probably will not get a kosher house (I can almost guarantee that ) but you can alway order in or buy an inexpensive warming plate or even do a little kashering yourself. But you will most certainly find a house in the area that you are looking for, just keep in mind to read reviews, especially when dealing with stand alone homes. I know someone who rented a home from one of these sites and while the house was a huge beautiful mansion, it also had a rat problem.

Correct, HomeAway owns both VRBO and VacationRentals. HA and VRBO have an identical inventory (usually), so I'd search on HA since they have robust search and filtering tools, while VRBO has almost none. VR often has different places than HA and many search tools, so I'd check them out too.

Once you find some options look on all three sites for reviews, since those are maintained separately. Some places are also listed on Trip Advisor (usually more expensive), but you could check for reviews there too.
