There's a few options. The QFC in University Village has Kosher food, as well as the Albertsons on Mercer Island.
You can check here for all the kosher stuff: http://seattlevaad.org/kosher-portfolio/
There's also Leah's http://www.leahcookskosher.com/catering.php which is awesome - not sure if she does shabbos food on an individual basis but call her and find out-she may be able to arrange something.

If you're at the convention center for shabbos there's also two shuls within walking distance (20-40m), one of which may have a dinner option also. Lastly if you're looking for a meal with a family there may be someone who can host you- PM me and I can find out.

Enjoy the Emerald City!

it really depends what you would like to see.
I was there for 3 days and was touring from 9 AM to 11 PM every day. But if you only have 1 day I'd recommend the following:
10 AM Pikes Place Market Tour (Seattle Free Walking Tour)
Smith Tower Observation Deck
R/T to Brainbridge Island
Chihuly Garden
EMP Museum
Space Needle
Kerry Park for Sunset (Bring a good camera. It's absolutely beautiful!!)

Of course there is a lot more but these are all within the city so it's easily accessible with the convenient bus system. Don't forget to buy an ORCA card...

To add on to above, the flying fish market in PP, cool to watch for a few minutes. And if you trek out, than the Boeing factory is less than an hour.

No need to go out to YVR as Seattle has so much to offer. The Olympic Mountains, Mount Rainer and Ho Rainforest are beautiful.

part of the pike place tour. Also have to see the gum wall.

True. IMO I don't think that's worth the drive. I say stick to one city and cover it all.

I would normally agree but we're spending enough time in seattle (tuesday-Saturday) that I don't mind moving on.

We will be visiting settle for a couple of days in the summer with our children, I appreciate the list you mentioned above. We will be there for 5 days. Any advice for day trips to tour Washington state within driving distance from Seattle (not more than 2 hours)? My husband plans on doing the Boeing tour with 2 older children while I take younger ones to the Children's Museum downtown. Regarding Brainbridge Island, seems like a nice place- what activities have you done there? What other highlights are worth visiting with children (some teenagers)? Thank you

I went to Brainbridge Island on Friday towards the end of my day so I just went back and forth without staying on the Island at all. Mount Rainer is nice, though didn't have a chance to leave the city at all. I also did the underground tour which gives tells you the history of Seattle. If you like seeing Locks then you can also go to Ballard
Also if you like beaches then Alkai Beach is nice.

You can also check out Microsoft Visitors Center not far from town. Not amazing, but a cool place to stop. Orca whale watching is a great way to spend a day. North Cascades National Park is stunning. Some parts of Olympic National Park can be done as a day trip from Seattle; check out the Hurricane Ridge. Museum of Flight is nice. Alkai Beach at night gives a stunning view of the city lit up. Kosher pizza on Mercer Island is delicious! Mt. St. Helens is also cool, but don't remember how far it is from Seattle.
