This is Henche's spouse again.

Can someone who lives nearby or has does it tell me how realistic is it to do the North Cascades with a baby that crawls?

For weekday stays near minyan, can anyone recommend hotels to stay at? Have SPG, Marriott and IHG points.  Was thinking either Downtown area or Bellvue max 15 min drive.

I don't see why not. It's a city hotel, not a resort type.

Which hotel: Grand Hyatt or Hyatt at Olive 8.

I booked both for next week, then cancelled the one that was slower to offer  me kosher breakfast :). DSU FTW!

Has anyone travelled to Seattle for vacation?
Any locals -- looks like there is a ton to do and lots of kosher options. Ideas for part city, part outdoorsy family vacation?
Food recs?
Thanks!

I have, what would you like to know? Island crust cafe (awesome food) and some vegetarian options, is pretty much it for the kosher food scene.

Thanks. What are the best activities for families? Looking for city and country mix.
Looks like there is more than just Island Crust -- the Indian place, Einstein Bagels, Bamboo something.
Anywhere that sells food to go for picnics?

How old are the kids?
Depending on the age EMP & Boeing field may be a good option. Taking the ferry out to brain bridge is really beautiful as well

Is there a Grocery Store that has kosher take out? Albertson's is closed, someone mentioned about a Safeway but can't find any information about that online.

The QVC in the University area has fresh BBQ chicken, Sushi, and a small selection of sandwiches and prepared salads.  Also has packaged cheese and packaged deli meats.

Just a follow up on the food side, hopefully can write more about the tourist side later:
  • Island Crust is a bit chaotic, I would stick with Pizza and fries (ie simpler menu items)
  • Pabla Indian is a great lunch option with their buffet
  • Really enjoyed the Teapot Vegetarian house.
  • Einstein Bagels is good food, service is a little poor, AND make sure you read the Teudah as I realized afterwards they don't certify the egg sandwich I ate unless I push the microwave button myself.

has anyone gone to the QFC on Rainier (relatively close to downtown where all the hotels are)? this story seems to imply they were growing their selection but they are not on the va'ad website. http://seattlejewishblog.com/2015/07/09/qfc-adds-more-kosher-selections-at-three-locations/
Also, any experience on quality of fresh food from QFCs?

They have grown their selection but sometimes they run out of certain things (kosher meat). Qfc in U village is a much better sure thing. Better yet go wth affordable Kosher and get it delivered and you don't have to worry about it- I've had really great experiences with them. Lastly you'd be surprised what Amazon prime now and fresh have in the way of kosher food.

And what do you mean by fresh food? As in prepared kosher food? Not much
