Anyone been on vacation to Seattle recently? Looks like nice place to visit w/ kids, good food options, shuls, etc.

Any recent tips on hotels, activities, and the like?

A friend is moving from southamerica to seattle. Any good info that you can share? Shuls? Schools? Friends that can be contacted?

Thanks,

Denise

For anyone who keeps c"y travelling to the Seattle area and wants vegetarian Chinese food, the Teapot in Redmond is Kosher pareve under the Vaad.  Food is pretty comparable to Bamboo Gardens and isn't certified cholov Stam. http://seattlevaad.org/portfolio/teapot-vegetarian-house-restaurant-redmond-location/

Stayed with friends over there. - Ur closest hotel option is Extended Stay America Seattle Redmond and there are also 3 Marriott properties about a mile away.

Yes. I stayed in Seward Park during the summer. BCMH has a hospitality committee. They put me up by a wonderful a family in the community and set me up for Shabbos meals. Visit their website for more info: bcmhseattle.org

Though Mercer Island is a nicer place to be for Shabbos. Reach out to the Rabbi there if he can accommodate.

At the minimum, make sure to go the pizza shop on mercer island, the best kosher pizza in america.

True, however if you are not renting a car,  it's a real mission to get to via Public Transportation.

Yes it is, I did it. The bus stop is about 10 minute walk from the pizza shop.

Were talking about the same place island crust cafe? Nothing beats their pizza, or for that matter their garlic fries with truffle mayo too.

That's the one.

Eh, I dunno, I don't recall it being that good, but maybe I should try it again tonight.

It really depends if you have enough time as well as how big of a foodie you are...
Ya'alili, have you been to Carmel in Milan? That is the best I have had. Island Crust didn't seem worth the trek to me considering what I have already tasted.

Was actually there only for the weekend, and it was kinda on the way from seattle to bellevue. Haven't been to Milan, but i'm sure the pizza there is very good, still for pizza in the US, this was amazing! - My italian friend who goes to NYC often, says the only pizza he will eat is from Raffaelo in NYC, an italian guy runs the shop.
