If you have any experience flying in and out of HPN what is the best way to get from there to brooklyn? Flying into there since tickets were half price!

AFAIK you will need to rent a car
I'm 99.9% sure there's no public transportation there

Do you have a car?  If you do, you can drive to a Park & Fly facility at SUNY Purchase -- it is nearby, a student run business, and has regular shuttles to an from HPN.  Not very expensive -- especially if you get a coupon (with a coupon, can be as little as $5 per day).

In general, there is no airport in the NY area that is more convenient to fly from (aside from geography if you don't live where I do).  It is TINY, and you can't possibly arrive more than 45 mins or 60 mins before the flight.  In peak times, they won't even let you go through security more than 30 minutes before flight time, because the gate area only has two gates (each divided into an A & B), and has limited waiting room.

Usually, flights from there are MUCH more expensive -- so we end up at LGA, even though HPN is only 13 mins from our house.

+1 if you go there when two flights are boarding in a row the place looks like a shelter with so many people sitting on the floor you have to watch where you walk except that these people are 55+ year olds from Connecticut wearing Fur Coats & Rolex Watches it's quite the site

-1. You could take the bee-line bus from the airport to downtown, from there u could catch the railroad to gct.

Thanks to all that responded. I would rather not be burdened with a car while i'm there - looks like taxi to metro north will be it!

You can always try a one-way rental from HPN to wherever you are going.....won't be cheaper, but will definitely be more convenient
