« on: June 21, 2010, 02:58:07 PM »
Does anyone have any good windows mobile apps that are useful? Ive been looking around online and I find there are alot of junky useless apps out there for WM. I have the HTC snap which is not touchscreen so that knocks out a bunch of apps. Theres no WM thread yet, so here it is.

Here is a great one- Pocket Gabbai.
It goes on the Today screen, and gives you the Hebrew date, zmanim, etc.

ppcgeeks.com

xda-developers.com

the last 2 are more for customizing your phone but definitely helpful apps. also see if you can install windows marketplace on your phone - they have some pretty cool free apps there too

The snap is tough since it is a non-touch device. WM in general has no central directory of "apps" like other smartphone vendors do. Microsoft tried to make one with their marketplace, but it never caught on.

There are TONS of great WinMo apps out there, tho... you just have to actually do some additional legwork to find them. :(
It doesn't help that the non-touchscreen versions are being phased out and not very popular to begin with (a shame, I really enjoyed that form factor!).

Good luck!

I've heard that a few times but haven't yet chanced upon them. Any clues where to look?

Another issue is that the snap has a bunch of bugs and they keep claiming they will come out with a software update......
The main one is that you can't change the ringtone! I found a reg. edit  fix for it. If anyone out there has the Snap and has this issue let me know and I'll show you what to do.
