Quick Question
« on: March 18, 2013, 05:49:20 PM »
Hi DDFers,
I just applied for an AMEX Starwood card for my first time, the sent me an email asking me to call them at (888-826-3471) because they need to finalize my application, they still need a 'Business Phone Number', and 'Home Address Verification', is there any reason I shouldn't call them? And is there anything I need to make sure not to tell them?

P.S. I wrote that my annual income is $150K (it's nowhere close to that), was that a good idea, or a bad one?

You mean you would actually give AMEX your business phone number and home address?
Are you crazy?!?!?
This could get the IRS, CIA and FBI on your case all at once.
And if this lands up in court, your are dealing with 50 years minimum.
 :P :P :P

I would call and give it a try. It is never a good idea to give false info.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

He wasn't asking about giving false information.
I am just wondering about your obsession with it.

Actually, he did:

And it's fraud.

I hate to see members get in situations because of stupid mistakes. Look at all the Amex FR’s. FR’s are no big thing unless you can’t back up what you put on the app.

When you get a FR and ask for help I won't say "I told you so".  ;)

BTW was approved, I should mark this day on my calendar as the day I started enjoying life  8)... Is there a way I can see how much they approved me for, or will I have to wait for the card to arrive first? (I'm just curious)

I think it's more the people who say, "I just put 1k of AP on my spg the past 3 months each. Am I going to have a problem with my taxes."
