I just did 6k with two splits with no fees (03/08/13 10:50 EST). Seems to still be working.

If this does not get blocked by the company, it is a great way to meet a spend. (Only free until 3/12/13)

I signed up through the regular GroupMe site and then logged in through the link Dan posted. Once logged in, i created a split and then followed the link it created when sent to my email. The link should bring you to a page that says 'chip in' and space for CC info. Entered info and submitted then repeated.

I hooked up my account and selected 'collect money', waiting for the pending charges on my CC's to go through.

I did all my transactions by computer. just go to groupme.com and click login, then click on register. once registered, go back to split.groupme.com and log in and create split.
make it 499 per person and the click create link. use incognito to follow that link, and then chip in without logging in. you can do that as many time as you wish... (I think.. I just did it with two "people" each time)

Dunno! i think they are about to crack down this whole thing, probably limiting splits to $100-$200
