Good choices. I would also add Peter Jackson, Eastwood, Cameron and Coen.
Really hard to squeeze Jackson in there. One great trilogy (LOTR), one bad (The Hobbit) - like really bad. Other than that he's directed very little. King Kong and Lovely Bones are the only other 2 I've seen. Not a particularly strong body of work. I personally think none of those 4 crack the top 5, maybe not even top 10.

I realized that at the end of the third movie the doc says the future wasn't written yet, so its fine that that cubs lost, because the whole path of the last 30 years has changed.

A long time ago.  Enjoyable, but long, IIRC.  I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10.  Not a must watch but not a waste of time.

It's a classic Leonardo DiCaprio movie. If you like his movies you'll like the movie, if you dont its still ok.

It's much much more than that. There's a deeper drama that isn't in his recent stuff.

There's an awesome website called kids-in-mind.com, I think it's Mormon, which ranks many movies for sex&nudity, violence&gore and profanity on scales of 1-10. Blood Diamond is a 5, 8, 6 respectively. We are really only sensitive to the first category and a 5 is too high for us. If you are sensitive to violence&gore, 8 is definitely too high for you. That said, I have never seen the movie.

The previews for his new movie The Revenant look super intense.

I probably use kids-in-mind the most, but sometimes they don't have a particular movie or show. It's good to have other, similar sites:

In enough detail that some may be shocked/offended by that in its own right. Just a fair warning - you may want to avoid reading descriptions if the rank is high enough.
