Do you want to play a board game, digitally or in Lakewood NJ? PM me. (Can be asynchronous, i.e. take turns whenever)

Hacksaw Ridge is fantastic
Just watched. Decidedly my favorite movie off all time.
To my defense, I only realized that war dramas are my favorite movies out there, especially when it's based on a true story, like a year ago. And I don't watch often at all.

What other movies in that genre are there?
I'm not who you think I am.

I'm gonna let that slide until you watch some legit GOAT contenders. It's not a movie, but you should absolutely watch Band of Brothers. IMO, nothing else really compares in the war category. As far as movies, you specifically want WWII, or any era of war drama?

+1. You can probably fill most of the true top 10 with classics, but a lot of people prefer modern films.

Band of Brothers was great, but you're the first person I've heard that enjoyed The Pacific. It got such bad reviews from people I knew that I didn't even bother watching.

Tons.
As others mentioned, Saving Private Ryan is a must. By far the best war movie out there.
Full Metal Jacket and Platoon are both good Vietnam movies.
Movies from the most recent Iraq/Afghanistan war you might want to check out are The Hurt Locker and American Sniper (Zero Dark Thirty is good but more of a thriller than a war movie). I would avoid Apocalypse Now for the time being but you should probably check that out at some point (it's really long and not really your typical war movie but definitely worth watching IMHO).

Seen it a long time ago. It might not be on the level of BoB, but I thought it was great. Seems to be rated pretty well.

I like to put movies in the must see category. As far as GOAT there is only one and he is in the NBA thread.  :)

If they ruin my childhood memories with a sequel then I will never forgive them. As an aside, they still host the original Space Jam website that is stuck in the 90s https://www.warnerbros.com/archive/spacejam/movie/jam.htm

Only makes sense, a movie with the old GOAT should be redone by the new and true GOAT. Already lots of stars signed on for it.
