You don't need a tour guide as there's nothing to see really.

There are a few tourist points of interest. Just pick which you want to see and take a taxi.

I did do the desert tour, which was fun. I went with Efraim. Highly recommended.

Wasn't there for shabbos.

Also, Elli's Cafe, on the palm, was Vegan (at least when I was there). I do not recommend the Vegan pizza!

Make sure you ask before you order as they don't always tell you.

Anyone know the status of the women’s Mikvah in Dubai? Asking out of ignorance. All I know is that it’s new and the Rav who oversees it is Rabbi Duchman who is an amazing person and has done incredible work there but at the same time he’s under 30 years old and lived most of his adulthood in Dubai so I’m not sure when he had the time to become a Baki in hilchos mikvaos and a Mikvah expert - which obviously you need to be to build a Mikvah. Just curious if anyone has additional info

Many chabad shluchim will fly in a mikvah expert to oversee the building of their mikvah and insuring its kashrus. Can't speak for Dubai specially though

What on earth does the Rabbi's age have to do with it? How many Chabad Shluchim do you think are Baki in Hilchos Mikvaos?

Any recommendations on where to rent a car from?
Is abu dhabi worthwhile to check out?
Is the jewish desert trip worth spending half a day on a short vacation?

IMHO do the dessert but not abu dhabi theres not that much to do around the city and you can do it the other days.. I rented from europcar was ok got brand new mazda 6 and it didnt even have a screen. Just because theres an abundance of luxury cars around dont expect one at the car rental, unless you pay for it...

UAE blocks VoIP apps like Google Voice, WhatsApp audio/video, Skype, etc. Anyone have any experience with WiFi calling in Dubai? Does it work with or without VPN?

My usual travel plans involve buying a cheap local data-only eSIM and forwarding calls to my GV number before traveling internationally but if GV is blocked I need an alternative. If wifi calling doesn't work then I guess plan C is Google Fi, but at $0.20/min that's costly. Any suggestions?
