I was thinking of going from Dubai to Oman for a day or 2. Should I rather go to Oman from Dubai or Abu Dhabi? Which one is closer? Should I go with a tour or rather by myself? Which places should I make sure to see and should I rather stay there for 1 day or 2?

There have been "hookups" coordinated from ddf (abu dhabi price mistake, and Dans recent Island hopper, though not sure 2nd one counts) and im sure many others...
You can post your dates and see if anyone pms you. There is also a for on tripadvisor dedicated to this

Where on tripadvisor can you see/do that?

Besides the modern beauty of Dubai, I want to see an authentic Arabic country without all the gadgets. I don't want to take the chance of going to Iran. I also hear that Oman is beautiful. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You are confusing Uman, Ukraine with Oman which is an Arabic country unless it was supposed to be a joke.

no but you can see the inside. if you want the views from the burj, you would probably have to go to the bar/restaurant

Any suggestions of things that are not on my list that should be or things that are on my list that should be? Am I arranging my days properly? Should I spend more time in Abu Dhabi Tuesday morning? Should I rather drive to another place in Oman than Khasab? If my best place to go is Khasab, am I doing the right things there or should I rather do something else in  Khasab?

Day 1-Monday
Arrive at 12:25PM at Abu Dhabi airport. Hope to be out with my car at 2 PM
Yas Island. Viceroy Hotel & see Formula One Racetrack
Saadiyat Island to check out the beaches
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque-5 PM tour
If I have time see
Circular skyscraper, the Aldar HQ
Emirates palace/do I need reservations to get in there?
Should I be doing anything else in Abu Dhabi? Should I sleep my 1st night in Abu Dhabi and go in the morning to Dubai or go at night to Dubai?

Day 2-Tuesday
Bur Dubai/Bastakiya/Al-fahidi Fort/Grand mosque/bur Dubai Souk/Sheikh Saeed house/Grand souk deira/ Spice souk/ Gold souk /Perfume souk/ Fish souk/Rhas Al Khor Sanctuary
Burj Al Arab
from which hotel can I see palm island best?
Burj Khalifa Park
Burj Khalifa-Around 6:30 PM for best views

Day 3 –Wednesday
Drive to Oman, Khasab Enjoy the ride in the morning and do an afternoon safari to Khawr An Nid/ Bayt Al Qufl/ Jabal Harim/ Sal Ala- Should I this or should I rather do a different safari in Khasab?

Day 4 –Thursday
Oman,    Khasab full day Dhow cruise and drive back to Dubai

Day 5 –Friday
Sunset beach or any other beach suggestion?
Madinat Jumeirah
Souk Madinat Jumeirah
Afternoon Plan 1 Desert safari-Does this make sense if I am going to Khasab or it’s doing the same thing twice?
Afternoon Plan 2 stuff didn’t finish from Tuesday Mall of emirates/ Ski Dubai/snow penguins

Day 6 –Saturday
…….

Where does Dubai Marina/ Old Dubai and Dubai Creek fit into my plans?
If I want to meet with a fellow traveler that travels at the same time does anyone know of such a forum where I can meet up with someone?
