An hour drive is fine... I guess I should figure out what we want to go see that day, then work backwards...

So, any sightseeing destinations in mind?
Burj kallifah, mall of Emirates- which are at the same place. You can spend hours at mall of Emirates shopping. There's an aquarium there as well. Also you have the water show outside I don't remember exactly what the times are.

Then you have indoor skiing at mall of Dubai but other then the skiing it's a step down from mall of Emirates.

You have the xline -zip line.

Gold shouk - didn't go to so no personal experience.

And then if you can figure out how to get in burj al Arab - the famous 7 star hotel.

I wonder if they get special rates at hotels for shabbos ;)

The hotels in that area are super expensive and nothing with points walking distance.

So, schedulewise i'm thinking

(Arrival iy"h 1015 pm sunday night, departing tuesday morning 1015 am)

Hotel - Book 2 nights at the Al maha (looks amazing)

Destinations -

 Khalifa fountain show
THe grand mosque
the dubai mall

Doable in one day? Anything i'm missing?

Also I got an offer for the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah for $1,425 - should i try it for a night ;D ;D I tried to find someone that has their points, no go...

Isn't the grand mosque in auh?
Mall of Emirates to see the indoor skiing
Tea at the burj al Arab.

If you can swing it the burj is definitely worth it...first hand experience :)

$1,700 for the burj, I'm skipping it.

I want to go around and see the mosque, mall, water show etc. Landing 7:45 pm, departing 8:30 am on the way to the Maldives. Way back landing Sunday night 10:15 pm, departing 1030 AM Tuesday morning from AUH.

What's my best shot? Try to get the mosque in on the inbound, then Dubai on the outbound? I booked the al Maha for the 2 nights on the return...

Also, was wondering if I should do my 2 nights in Al Maha vs the Al wadi.

I see though that 2 different bloggers are both saying Al Maha.
