Jesus, the cross, etc. are all shailos of actual avodah zarah. Muslims, on the other hand, believe in the same G-d as we do; they just, ah, "go about things differently", to say the least.

Not being idol-worshippers doesn't mean that we believe in the same Gd.
It just means they don't believe in multiple Gds, a human Gd, etc.
