Rental car general question.
« on: March 10, 2013, 07:21:25 PM »
Has anyone attempted to rent through a european site for a unites states rental?

Ok I realize that might be a confusing way of asking a question. So the scenario is family is having a eveny in Florida and we are flying down the rental rates are averaging 60 a day for the time we are going if I was looking at Hertz direct or expedia.com. However someone gave me an idea to check expedia.co.uk for the same dates the dates given to me on the UK site were $26 a day when converted from pounds to USD. Are there any issues with using an UK site to book a USA rental. I am a us citizen but my wife isnt so maybe I could use her passport but are they looking for stamps?

Also the UK site says they even include insurance at that rate: "Supplier Special Rate includes insurance. Car taxes and fees included."

I believe that your wife would need a drivers license not from the US.

Also I am not sure how it works here but in Israel if even one additional driver is from Israel you pay taxes.

Her drivers license is expired from over seas. Any idea if they require a foreign drivers license to get the reduced rate?
